18.10.22

October is the un-official pumpkin month, we all know it and embrace it one way or the other, from pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin beauty masks or pumpkin soups, this fruit (yeah, you’ve read that right, pumpkin is not a vegetable is actually a fruit!) is the hero of the autumn season.

Why is it pumpkin good for our health, though?

According to recent studies, pumpkin is really healthy, while being packed with vitamins such as vitamin A and vitamin C, minerals, and antioxidants. And as a bonus, it is also low in calories, so we can eat away without having to worry about gaining extra pounds. Due to its antioxidants, it boosts our immune system, a very useful thing at the beginning of the cold season, it protects our eyesight and promotes heart health all while making our skin glow.

  1. Pumpkin seeds for the libido

Add pumpkin seeds as a snack and eat it daily and you will see a boost of your libido, due to the high content of zinc that pumpkin seeds have. Zinc increases testosterone in men and also helps with the quality and quantity of the sperm count.

Now, for the ladies:

  1. Pumpkin body scrub

As summer has ended, our sun-exposed skin deserves a little bit of special treatment, so creating a natural body scrub to exfoliate the dead skin cells and prepare your body for the cold weather is a must. Mix equal parts of pumpkin puree, olive oil and sugar and then apply the mixture rubbing gently all over your body with a washcloth. Rinse the skin, gently dry it and then apply a body cream and you’re done!

Exfoliate twice a week and in between use a pumpkin body butter to put on your skin when taking a shower. For a pumpkin body butter all you need is equal parts of pumpkin puree and coconut oil. Mix it together, apply it on your skin, gently massaging, rinse away with water and that’s it, you’ll smell delicious and feel soft and yummy!

  1. Pumpkin spice latte for extra energy

Due to the health benefits that pumpkin has and the energizing properties of all the spices used while making a pumpkin spice latte, this autumn signature drink is a must in your diet these days. And here is an easy recipe to make your own pumpkin spice latte at home!

All you need is some oat milk, or any other type of milk you prefer, or your body tolerates, pumpkin puree, spices, coffee, sugar, and whipped cream.

First, make some coffee (espresso), then heat on the stove the milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, spices (cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, vanilla). Mix these two together and add whipped cream on top and voila, you have your own, delicious, energizing, and healthy pumpkin spice latte, without paying a lot in coffee shops for this world-famous autumn beverage.
