Today we want to recommend the best dresses and suits to choose at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

You’re gonna want to look good on and off the red carpet, right? That means wearing amazing outfits that will make your partners drool! Don’t forget, though, that every skirt, gown, tuxedo, and so on must respect the event’s dress code. Let’s see what the four most important etiquette terms are and what clothes you should choose according to them.

Black tie

Ladies, this means classy pant suits and long elegant dresses for you. As usual, a black dress is one of the top choices to look effortlessly classy. We recommend straps when it comes for sleeves. Pick your favorite skirt, add darker leggings, and pair these with some leather shoes.

Guys have it easier: you can opt for a tuxedo with a white shirt and a white bowtie. Add black satin socks, polished black leather shoes, some cuff links, and you’re good to go. To make it even more elegant, you can wear a matching sash around your waist.

White tie

This one is super formal dress code. It’s all about black coats with tails matching your trousers that can have one stripe of black satin, white bowties, a white vest, and a white shirt with a stiff front. Black shoes are the most popular option here. For the ultimate classy touch, you can wear some white gloves.

For the ladies, white tie means you can choose a long evening gown and pair it with gloves.

Black tie optional

A less informal dress code term, it translates into neutral colored pantsuits or cocktail dresses for women. Guys are encouraged to wear a tie and a black suit instead of the usual bowtie and tuxedo. Gentlemen, remember to stay away from shirts that come in extravagant colors. Ladies, don’t wear outfits that are too short and never ever wear too much makeup.

Creative black tie

A reinterpretation of the classic black-tie dress code, creative black tie refers to the incorporation of a chic twist into your clothes. You can either go without a tie and leave your shirt’s top button unbuttoned or replace your bowtie with a straight tie. Instead of the regular white shirt, men should find a black one.

As for the girls: strap shoes with various heels are a totally fine option. The same goes for long dresses or cocktail outfits. It’s OK to choose quirky accessories and bold colors, too.
