Get things done! Stop postponing your life.

09.04.21

Procrastination taken to extremes can impact our lives in more ways than we even imagine. We all know that taking some time off just to breath, relax and reconnect with ourselves is important, but taking this a step to far can have really damaging effects on both our mental and physical well-being.

We’re talking about losing dates, missing advertising opportunities, eating unhealthily, getting anxious and stressed and so on.

The pandemic has managed to take procrastination to a whole new level, making it a threat even greater than workaholism, because with all the restrictions, fears and businesses closing, the situations that are inviting us to procrastinate have multiplied, and from one procrastinating day to another we suddenly find ourselves drown in depression, anxiety and even missed opportunities.

So, if you feel like doing nothing, days in a row, while bills are pilling, clothes need to be washed, client messages are not replied to and you just want to lay on the couch in your pj’s, then you’ve taken procrastination a little too far.

When your personal and professional life starts to be influenced by your lack of motivation and desire to keep procrastinating, then measures need to be taken. There are 3 steps that will help you overcome your anxieties and fear of re-starting your daily routine:

Step 1

De-clutter your brain

Most often what makes us procrastinate is the feeling that we have way too much on our plate and we can’t handle it all. But the not so fun part about procrastination is that the more we choose to procrastinate the more unresolved things start pilling up, on top of the ones already left un-done.

So, the first thing you need to do is take a piece of paper and start writing down all the things that need to be done. They don’t have to have a certain logic, just write down what comes to you in the order that they pop in your head. This way, by putting it all down on paper you’ll have a realistic image of the things that you need to resolve (because most often we tend to believe that we have more things to do then we actually have), and you’ll feel your head lighter.

Step 2

Divide everything by importance

By putting things down on paper and divide them according to importance and deadlines you start making order in your life and take action. By setting deadlines for each task, you motivate yourself to get started, and by dividing chores into “Urgent”, “Important” and “Not right now” you start shedding some light into the pile of things you’ve put of so far. This way you can approach each task one step at a time, without feeling overwhelmed.

Step 3

Break big tasks into smaller ones

If you have to create your profile on an escort directory, but you just feel overwhelmed by this task and you keep on avoiding it, change the tactic and divide it in smaller tasks. For example, for today plan to go through all your photos and select 5 of them to upload into your photo gallery, tomorrow start writing your escort description, the next day decide on the services you want to offer to your dates and so on.

You don’t have to do it all right now! Take it baby steps, if a task needed to be done terrifies you. And remember that by procrastinating as a life choice you will lose opportunities, dates and other things that could be useful in your escorting profession.

Keep in mind that it is ok to procrastinate a day or two, as long as you don’t make it a lifestyle. Check out our advice and let us know how things worked out for you.
