The Best Cannes Film Festival Hair Looks

13.04.18

Not too long to go till this year’s Cannes Film Festival. It’s the perfect occasion to put on your best outfit and party the night away in style with a fabulous date. If you already have several bookings during this spectacular event, better think of what you’ll wear and what hairstyles you’ll opt for. Today we’re going to talk about the latter, so you can get an idea of what’s in at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. Our top picks are super easy to do, and the result will make you look ravishing.

1. Keep it wavy

No matter how many years into the future we’re talking about, the wavy hairstyle will never go out of fashion. It’s one of the most feminine but also modern ways to turn heads wherever you go, especially on the French Riviera. You can opt for lots of beach waves or fewer, depending on your face structure, hair length, and personality.

To get the perfect wavy hair, you’d normally have to use a curling iron. But we all know just how time-consuming and damaging to your hair that is. Thankfully, you can ditch this method and create the look by sleeping in braids overnight. Begin by washing your hair, but don’t use a conditioner if you have straight and fine hair. Next, dry it by squeezing out water gently with your hands. In case the hair is still wet, use a microfiber towel or go for a smooth cotton shirt.

Third step: use a sea salt spray to spray your hair after you’ve combed it out with either your hands or a wide-tooth comb. Now you’re ready to create braids. Make sure they’re all dry, then go to sleep. When you wake up, remove the hair ties and undo the braids. Smooth out the waves by running your fingers through your hair. Never ever use a brush, because you’ll get frizzy hair. You’re good to go! Now you can either tie your waves half up, half down, throw them in a ponytail, or whatever else you like.

2. Go for a middle and plaited style

This is another hairstyle that will always work at any event, any time. It makes you look both elegant and modern, especially on the arm of your date. Middle and plaited hairstyles don’t require a lot of effort. You can do them on your own at the hotel you’re staying at if you’re in a hurry.

In case you want to keep things simple, we suggest doing a center parting and letting your hair hang loose. Or you can use a bit of glossy gel to make it shiny. Opt for a ballerina look by gathering your hair in a bun or go for braids. Use your imagination and everyone will love your look.

3. Top-knots are perfect for beach time

If you want to unwind by the pool or at the beach after a long night, a top-knot is your best option. To achieve the perfect look, you’ll only need 10 seconds. Look for a couple of bobby pins and one hair tie. Spray dry shampoo on your hair, fluff it, then use your fingers to brush it back. You’ll end up with a ponytail. Continue by tugging out the sides. Twist your hair half way down, then on your head about half way until you end up with a cute ballerina bun. Hold it using one your left or right hand, grab the loose hair, then spread it over your bun with one of your palms. Take a hair tie and make sure to pull it over the top. Next, tug the hair tightly, twist it, and bring it over the bun’s top. When you’re halfway, let go, then tug your hair out of the bun to make it bigger. Use hairspray to hold everything in place.
